WW2. it created jobs.
Ironically enough ww2. The production of weapons and tanks and such gave alot of people jobs and stimulatwed the ecenomy. The New Deal doesn’t get the credit for ending the depression.
The depression will happen once unemployment touches 20%. Watch, Obama is going to increase it to 13% next year. Then 16%, then 20% in his 3rd year.
Assuming health care reform passes and cap and trade.
Both of those bills will damage business badly.
The massive amounts of spending that occurred with World War Two. FDR never gave Keynesian economics a complete try. WW Two did what Keyenesian economics would have predicted.
FDR created several work programs, putting people to work to build buildings and public works.
He created funds to keep the banks from failing, keeping peoples funds viable and accessible.
It is the start of the World War I which ended the Great Depression that hit our country.
During those times, many companies and even the government hired all unemployed people to work for factories to work for war materials like bombs, etc.
In addition, the US Government have hired 11 million people to replace the aging members of those who are working in the armed forces.
Hence, the start of the Second World War became an escape of the US from the Great Depression.
World War Two and rearmament. FDR’s earlier social programs were hamstrung by the Supreme Court. World War Two gave the FDR government considerable authority to direct the economy, as the US government is permitted to do in times of war.
WW2, as other users said, actually ended the Great Depression. the New Deal programs didn’t really help in the long-run, although they were effective in the short run.
This is pretty much historical fact, the people giving thumbs down are simply ignorant of history.
WW2 ended the last great depression however if FDR didn’t interfere with the natural laws of business it would have ended years earlier.
We will never know the truth because if their is a depression the media will blame Republicans, Wall Street, big business, the banks, American greed and unfairness, centuries of racism, global warming, and little green men.
If there is an economic upturn they will credit Obama.

We destroyed the industrial capacity of all our economic competitors.
The Great Depression ended when the countries in Europe started fighting due to the rise of fascism. Check the Dow price history - the USA economy started recovering in the late 1930’s, well before 1941.
The countries that were fighting off the fascists bought their weapons and ammunition from us. So many people got jobs in weapons factories.
The Depression ended because of MONEY COMING INTO THE COUNTRY, not from spending by the US government. We already are spending bazillions on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but it is not ending the recession.
You have to BRING IN MONEY FROM OTHER COUNTRIES to end a Depression.
Obama is intentionally bringing back the Depresssion because back then, many people wanted the USA to change to communism. Obama wants to recreate that time so that he can then force us into communism.
Obama is doing his best to duplicate what Hoover did to cause the Depression, including the broken campaign promises. Look up the history of Hoover.
Obama is intentionally destroying the USA. He is repeating what Hoover did to start the Depression, and he is also doing the things FDR did that made the Depression last 10 years.
And this time, there is no signs of fascism rising anywhere, so this time there will not be any war money from foreign countries to bail us out of the Obama Depression.
World War 2, remember a recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job, a recovery is when the liberals and Obama lose thier job**************************************************************

I disagree with the idea that WW2 ended it. I think the fact that europes manufacturing was destroyed helped OUR economy a lot. And the death of Roosevelt, and the wartime discontinuation of his policies helped a lot, too.
Massive spending and destroying things doesn’t create prosperity, but that’s what big government is good at. Unemployment certainly dropped, but were people better off? Remember the rationing that took place?
I’m seriously worried that the idiot party will continue wasting huge amounts of resources, using WW2 as a pretext. Way stupid - if that works so well why not have a full time program, building things and destroying them?
Big spending gives the idiot politicians money to spread around. It makes them and their supporters better offf, but is ruinous to the country.
