I think it does address it. The basic argument is that depression comes due to sins and forgetfulness of Allah. And content is the result of strong iman and taqwa. It’s a simple equation that can offer a remedy to depressed people. I dont think it was supposed to address the concept of what depression is, and all the neuro science behind it..

This is a very good talk, masha’Allah related to the focus on materialism but unfortunately it does not address the reality of depression as the title indicates.
